Here´s an easy recipe for bread baked in flower pots!
It really looks nice and it´s soo easy to prepare. And the pots (diameter 9cm) are just a few cents.
For 2 pot breads you need:
2 pots (cleaned and prepared with parchment paper)
250 gr flower
150 ml warm water
1 p yeast
1/2 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
2 tsp olive oil
Optional: Nuts, olives, seeds, whatever you like
First prepare your new(!) pots. Make sure, you get plain clay pots without any surface treatment. Water them well and bake them for 20 min at 220C. You just have to do this once, so all bad stuff on the pots is gone. Let cool off.
Prepare the dough: Mix warm water, yeast, sugar ,and 1/4 of flower in a bowl and let the yeast get ready to work. It is ready when the mixture shows little bubbles.
Since I have two pots, I split the dough in 2 parts. I added walnuts to one and pumpkin seed oil and pumpkin seeds to the other.
Preheat the oven to 200C. Fill the dough in your pots, put a wet tea towel on the pots and let rest for half an hour in a warm spot, till dough has risen almost double.
Bake for 30 min till golden brown and enjoy it.
I really love it with fresh cut chives and butter!
